The Greatest Snow on Earth... is right here

Located only a few miles from the hostel's door is the world famous Wasatch Mountain Range. Known for their scenic beauty, immaculate powder, and Strava segments, it is a joy to call this our backyard. Point your vehicle up any of our nearby canyons, and you’ll be sure to find yourself at a ski resort before you know it!* But beware! Entering the canyon during peak travel hours will be sure to awaken the mythical Wasatch Red Snake, our local resident. However, you’ll quickly forget your woes and your stress will dissipate once you are tumbling down a blue groomer on a powder day as you think to yourself “skiing powder is a lot harder than I thought”.

Want to support our local public transit, UTA? Our staff will drive you to the nearby Park and Ride where you can wait for the bus (free for Ikon pass holders). Once you load the bus you’ll instantly become best friends with all 120 riders on the 40’ long bus, while (of course) adhering to COVID social distancing guidelines. Confusing and hypocritical? You have now acquainted yourself with the infamous political system of Utah.

Don’t want to deal with the touristy crowds that come with resorts? Our staff will lead up on a journey of solitude with our backcountry skiing package. Free your heel and your soul as you walk towards Powder Park III, Utah’s best kept secret! The angle might be low, but the experience will be anything but. Or, if you're looking for a bit more spice in your life, four of the "50 classics" are within a short drive of us. Test your skiing skill, your nerves, and your ability to take cool pictures for Instagram there!

From trees to steeps to groomers, the Wasatch has it all! As you stand at the base of Alta looking up at the mountain you’ll be thinking to yourself “do people actually ski that?”. The answer is yes; the locals here are absolutely insane and out of their mind. If something is ski length or longer, it will be skied by a local (including us…we’re insane and out of our minds).

Welcome to the Wasatch. Where the words “normal”, “it goes”, and “fun” have a different meaning than the rest of the world.
